4 months stats

Dawsyn is now 4 months. I took her for her check-up (Cole was happy he had to work).
She weighs 15.1 lbs and is 25 inches long. 90% in both height and weight.
This is one of my favorite times, just waking up. I love her little smiles and coos.

Red Canyon

Cole and I were excited about taking a little vacation. We had it planned for a month or so that we would spend a weekend up at the cabin on Cole's 4 day weekend. Well, we had the truck all loaded with food, Neo and his food and Dawsyn and all that goes along with her. We decided to grab a drink before we headed up the mountain and...THE TRUCK QUIT. I hoped that it would be something that Cole could hurry and fix, but Cole had to break the news to me that it wasn't something he could do. So we limped the truck home, and unloaded it.
We decided to take the next day and go for a ride. We enjoy loading up a picnic and see where we end up. This day we ended up in Red Canyon for a 6 mile walk. Then we went to Bryce Canyon to see a few sites and ended the day with a Dreyers ice cream.

Not the weekend away that we had in mind, but fun none the less.

Grandpa Sorensen

Mom, Dad, Dawsyn and I went to see Grandpa Sorensen. Grandpa hadn't seen Dawsyn yet and I wanted to get some pictures with him while I had the chance.

I hadn't seen Grandpa since last Thanksgiving, he didn't even recognize me. Mom had to tell him who I was. Granted, his eyes are not very good, but still I feel like the worst grand-daughter. I am making a vow to see him more often.

While we were there, we loaded up the table and benches for my patio that Grandpa told me I could have. We have so many memories on that table. I can't wait to get it all set up on the patio and make some memories of our own, but we still have some cement to pour so that will come later.

Nothing like a Koosharem Parade

Dawsyn and I went up to Koosharem to spend a few days and got to take in all the 24th of July festivities.

Can't have a parade without...

I love being home. There is nothing like good, clean, cool Koosharem air. When I got up home, we sat out in the yard for a while just enjoying the evening. It was so peaceful. Mom and Dad have always had such a pretty yard. Mom's flowers were so pretty and all the trees have grown so much. The little pine tree is not so little anymore.

The days are always full at home. With family stopping by, there is never a dull moment. Wes and Carrie fixed some yummy dutch oven potatoes, Mom made a really tasty coleslaw (funny how our likes and dislikes change as we get older) and I made chicken kabobs for dinner Friday night and then we made cherry chocolates for our reunion auction. I think we finished up at 10:30. Dawsyn was really good to sit in her bouncy and watch. Savannah and Holly helped put the cherries in the fondant and Hunter made his own without the cherry.

Wes and Carrie just moved into their new house, so Saturday morning we went to see it all finished. They have done a really nice job. Then we stopped to see all the changes that Chet and Coquette have been making to their house.

Mom hurried to get some bread made for me to take home. Which Cole and I ate a whole loaf of in one day. I told Cole he will want me to leave more often, if he gets homemade bread when I come back. I still get that knot in my throat when I leave. There is just something about being home and the feeling you have there. I hope I can be the parent to my children that my parents are to me. I never realized what love Mom and Dad have for all of us until I had Dawsyn. I couldn't comprehend. I wish that I could run up more often. I am so jealous of Chet, Allison and Wes who get to be by Mom and Dad all the time. Thanks Mom and Dad for everything.

Memory Lane

Sorry, I had to join in the fun. I have seen this on some other blogs and have had fun thinking back. Help me remember some good times we have had together!

1. As a comment on my blog, leave one memory that you and I had together. It doesn't matter if you knew me a little or a lot, anything you remember!
2. Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. It's actually pretty funny to see the responses. If you leave a memory about me, I'll assume you're playing the game and I'll come to your blog and leave one about you.

New toy!

Still a little big for Dawsyn, but the little floor gym doesn't do it for her anymore.

Our 4th of July

The summer holidays are hard for me. There is nothing like a good ol' Koosharem 4th of July, but because Cole usually has to work, we stay home. I hate leaving him on a holiday.

We watched the parade and then went to Cole's parent's for lunch.

I was just sitting there, after Cole left for work, feeling bad and Megan called and asked me to go to Brian Head with her. We had so much fun. I think that will be our new tradition. They had a band playing and everyone just gathered and visited until the fireworks started. Let me tell you, the fireworks were pretty good. The weather was nice and cool and we didn't have to fight crowds like you do in Cedar.

Kenya and Dawsyn in matching dresses.
I sang to Dawsyn, "Your a grand ol' flag......"

The picture doesn't do the fireworks justice, my shutter speed is too slow.

Dawsyn loved the flashing lights. She just watched.

I didn't realize it until after church, but for the most part we were in red, white and blue. Had to take a picture!!

Three months, already??

Rolling, rolling rolling....

Dawsyn is growing so fast. Everyone says how babies grow, but I didn't realize that it would happen this fast. Dawsyn started rolling quite some time ago (I am slow at posting... too busy just watching her). At first she went from her back to her belly and in less than a week, she was rolling across the room.

I was home working when she rolled the first time, I am so glad I was. I would have cried if I missed it. Oh, who am I kidding... I cried anyway. (You mothers know what I am talking about.)

So, Dawsyn is just over three months and is all over the living room floor, she loves to visit and I love to hear her little giggle.

Very first roll!

The "What just happened?" look.
