Cedar City's tragic loss

I am sure that most, if not all of you who will be reading this have heard about this tragic accident.

Dallin and Kamber Ellsworth lived in our ward here in Cedar for a short time after they were married. What a lively, cute couple they were. Our hearts go out to Kamber as she is dealing with this loss while expecting their first baby very shortly; as well as all the other families that are involved.

How grateful we are for the gospel and the knowledge that these families will be together again and also for the Atonement of our Savior helping us all to cope with the trials we have to face.

While I didn't know David on a close personal level, he was an employee of The Leavitt Group. The below is a letter from Dane Leavitt CEO of The Leavitt Group.

Dear Colleagues:

We are saddened to report that at approximately 5:30 p.m. on Friday, 22 August, a King Air 100, owned by an LGE subsidiary, and piloted by David White, crashed shortly after take-off at the Moab, Utah airport. All ten aboard, including David, were killed. David is known to many of you as a member of our IT Team, and one of LGE’s pilots. David was a valued member of our team. His gentle demeanor endeared him to all.

The accident occurred while David was flying a beloved local Cedar City doctor and members of his staff to Moab to provide medical services. The flight was part of an ongoing arrangement under which the doctor and his team used the aircraft. All who perished were from Cedar City. Many were close friends and neighbors to those at LGE’s headquarters. Our hearts are broken by this tragedy. We hold with gratitude our faith in God, and along with the hundreds touched by this accident, seek from Him strength, comfort and perspective.

David is survived by his wife, Andrea, and four children. We will advise concerning funeral and related details as they become known.

Dane and Eric

By the way, here is the blog that has been set up for the families.

New to us, patio table.

We finally got our patio table home. This is the patio table that was at Grandpa Sorensen's house. So many Memorial Day and summer time memories with this table. This table has seen many a baked beans and a lot of melted ice cream and cookie crumbs. Can't wait to use it more often. We need to do a little work on it. But at least we can have a place to sit and have lunch or dinner outside.

Reunion Pictures.

Thanks to Charmian and her family for planning this year. As always, lots of laughs and good cry. Can't wait til next year, or at least the Christmas Party! Love you all!

Update on Dawsyn

Addi is such a little entertainer for us all. She is so sweet with Dawsyn. She makes sure that Dawsyn has toys and talks and sings to her. We all giggle when Addi is around. Dawsyn loves her cousins!

Yummy Rice Cereal!!
Dawsyn loves her cereal... we are almost ready for some veggies!

Dawsyn loves her little bug. Every time it is within reach, she wants it.

Early B-day present from Mom!

This is my apron Mom made me for my birthday...I love it!! I have started wearing aprons more often. With my weird work schedule, I hate getting dressed twice or always having something on the front of my shirt, not to mention Church functions. So, the aprons come in very handy. Thanks Mom. I love it.

P.S. no talking about my dirty kitchen... I was in the middle of making Pasta Carbonara for dinner. I will have to share this recipe later.
